The Literacy Project promotes early childhood literacy and family engagement by increasing access to books and encouraging positive reading habits from an early age. By supporting caregivers and expanding access to age-appropriate materials, we help create strong foundations for lifelong learning. Through our efforts, we have placed more than 4,000 books into the hands of children and teens throughout Raleigh County.

Early literacy plays a critical role in healthy child development. Reading together strengthens family bonds, supports language development, and builds skills that contribute to academic success and long-term well-being.
Our Literacy Project aligns with our prevention mission by strengthening protective factors within families and supporting positive childhood development.
My Little Library provides accessible books and literacy resources to families in our community. By placing books directly into the hands of children and caregivers, we help foster a love of reading and learning at home.
Through partnership efforts, families can enroll children to receive free, age-appropriate books delivered directly to their home each month.
The Literacy Project works in partnership with United Way of Southern West Virginia to expand access to books and early literacy opportunities for children in Raleigh County.
Together, we are helping families build stronger foundations for success.
